Hope to see you there! October 16 GROW MUNCH GO A HUGE SUCCESSOn Thursday Colbinabbin. Stanhope and St. Marys Primary School along with Rushworth P-12 College were treated to the first Grow Munch Go day organized by Sowing the Seeds of Wellbeing and La Trobe University Bendigo’s Health and Physical Education students. The day aimed to promote healthy eating, physical activity and growing fruits and vegetables at school. Activities included Ultimate Frisbee, Master Chef, Food Art, Gymnastics, Pilates and Gardening. Even though we experienced four seasons in one day the La Trobe students treated our children to an amazing day that ran beautifully. To immortalize the day St Mary’s Students were captured enjoying the day by WIN TV Shepparton, Rushworth P-12 made a full page spread in the Shepparton News and Colbinabbin students made it to the Campaspe News. Feedback from students, parents, teachers and La Trobe has been extremely positive; the best part of the day, according to students and parents alike, being the free show bags! The best news is we will be back next year to run it all over again! Hopefully we will be able to have more community involvement so that they day can be enjoyed by everyone! A big thank you to Dr Zali Yager and her students for their hard work in organiseing and running the day, Keegans Nursery Stanhope for the veggie seedlings, Billabong Garden Nursery Shepparton for our “bush tucker” seedlings, Coughins IGA Rushworth and Andersons Fruit and Veg for our food and to all the schools for allowing this day to happen and be such a success.
